Receiving, quarantine & counts

Most of a warehouse worker's day is picking and packing. The rest happens on the same phone: counting a delivery at the dock, photographing what arrived damaged, walking the day's cycle count, and checking the pick problems the office is working on. This section covers those four jobs.

Who does which step

The floor and the office share these jobs. The phone shows some buttons to everyone, but only the roles below can use them; anyone else who taps one gets an Access denied page (see #1562 and #1563).

Why the office signs off

The stock belongs to the supply partner, not the warehouse. Anything that changes what they own on paper — posting a delivery into stock, correcting a count — gets a second pair of eyes from the office. The floor records what it sees; the office makes it official.

  • Quarantine — the office view of held units.
  • Cycle counts — approving corrections and completing the batch.
