Permissions by role

Each role is a fixed bundle of permissions. This page lists all 46, grouped the same way as the permission checkboxes on the API key form, with the short name that form shows.

You don't need these names for everyday work. They matter in two places:

• API keys. When you issue a key you tick the permissions it may use, and you can only tick ones you hold yourself. A key never gets more than the person it's issued to.
• Checking a role. If someone asks "why can't I…?", find the task here to see which roles can do it.

You can't change which permissions a role has. The four roles are the same on every ConsignTrak.

Orders

Things decided by role, not by a permission

A few screens check the role itself:

• Administrator only: Users, Settings, system health, and carrier accounts and carrier health.
• Supply Partner only: the whole portal. An Administrator can't open it.
• Not for a scoped user: someone limited to one supply partner can't open the operations wallboard or bulk imports, or add a supply partner, whatever their permissions (see Supply-partner scoping).
• No API keys for Supply Partner users: the API refuses every request made as a Supply Partner user.
