Inventory & items
Every part the warehouse holds for a supply partner is an item. The Inventory pages are where the office answers "what do we have, where is it, and what happened to it?" They are also where stock gets corrected when the shelf and the system disagree.
The supply partner owns every unit on these pages. The warehouse looks after the stock and records every change, but it doesn't own anything and doesn't set prices. That's why ConsignTrak records a reason and a name against every change in quantity.
Where to find it
The Inventory section of the sidebar holds everything in this chapter:

On a phone, Inventory check is under More at the bottom of the screen. The phone has no menu entry for the item list itself. You reach it from a supply partner or location page, or from the Items need attention chip on the office home screen. Adjustments is desktop only.
The pages in this chapter
- Finding an item: the list, its filters, and the search boxes that pick an item on other screens.
- Item detail: stock levels, locations, aliases, movement history and sales history for one item.
- Creating and editing an item: adding a new part, changing its details, and discontinuing it.
- Adjusting stock: correcting a quantity, and when to use a count or a receiving instead.

Three numbers you'll see everywhere

| On Hand | Units physically in the warehouse right now, as far as ConsignTrak knows. |
| Committed | Units already promised to released orders that haven't shipped yet. |
| Available | On Hand minus Committed: what you can still promise to someone. |
Any of these can go below zero. A negative number is a signal to look at the item's history, not an error that blocks work. See Item detail for how to read it.
Items have no fixed code of their own. ConsignTrak matches the supply partner's part number however it's typed, and also matches other numbers the item is known by. How items are identified explains how that works.
