Follow-up flags
What this is
Some exception resolutions say, in effect, "the shelf didn't hold what ConsignTrak thought". A short pick shipped short is the usual one. Resolving the exception unblocks the order, but it doesn't fix the stock count. Follow-up flags are the safety net: the Adjustments screen lists every such resolution and flags each one until the count has been corrected. Office staff and administrators check it as part of reviewing adjustments.
Before you start
- Role: Office or Administrator. The Adjustments screen is on the computer only.
- Settings: none.
- You'll need: exceptions resolved in the date range you're looking at.
Step by step
-
Open Adjustments from the Inventory section of the sidebar. The full screen — the adjustments ledger, its filters and totals — is explained in Inventory & items.
-
Scroll to Exception resolutions implying a count discrepancy, below the ledger. It lists pick exceptions resolved in the dates you've filtered to where the disposition means the physical count differed from the system:
- short picks resolved Ship partial, backorder remainder;
- mispicks resolved Ship as is (substitution accepted).
Exceptions resolved any other way — re-pick, direct ship, cancel, other — don't imply a wrong count and never appear here.
-
Look for amber rows. Each row's Status says either:
- No follow-up adjustment (amber row, red quantity) — nothing has corrected this item's count since the exception was resolved; or
- Adjusted (green) — a correction exists.
-
Correct each amber row. Check the bin, then record an adjustment for the item (click the item to see its stock, or follow Inventory & items). Or count it with a cycle count — an approved variance counts as the correction. The row turns Adjusted once any adjustment or cycle-count correction for that item is recorded at or after the resolution time.
If you already know the shelf was short when you resolve the exception, tick Also correct on-hand stock on the resolution form (see The triage queue). The correction is written in the same step, linked to the exception, and the row here is Adjusted from the start. The adjustment shows in the ledger with the reason Pick Discrepancy and a link back to the exception.
Every field and option
| Field or control | What it means | Required | Default | What changes when you set it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Exception resolutions implying a count discrepancy | The panel heading. The count under the page title includes N exception resolutions. | — | — | — |
| Date and other filters | Shared with the adjustments ledger above; see Inventory & items. | — | — | Changes which resolutions are listed. |
| Status column | No follow-up adjustment or Adjusted. | — | — | — |
| Order column | The order number, linking to the order. | — | — | Opens the order. |
| Item column | The part number, linking to the item. | — | — | Opens the item. |
| Qty column | How many units the resolution implies were off. | — | — | — |
| Disposition column | How the exception was resolved. | — | — | — |
| Resolved by, Resolved at | Who resolved it and when. | — | — | — |
| Showing the 50 most recent — narrow the date range to see the rest. | The panel shows at most 50 rows. | — | — | Narrow the dates to see older ones. |
The panel has no buttons of its own; you fix a row by recording an adjustment.
What happens next
- Once a correction for the item exists after the resolution, the row turns Adjusted. It stays listed for the dates it falls in, as a record.
- The adjustment itself records a stock movement, like any adjustment.
Common problems
"No discrepancy-implying exception resolutions in this window." — Nothing in the selected dates needs a follow-up. Widen the dates if you expected rows.
A row turned Adjusted but I didn't correct it. — Any adjustment or cycle-count correction to the same item after the resolution counts, including one someone made for another reason. Check the ledger to be sure it covered the shortfall.
An old short pick isn't listed. — Short picks resolved before order blocking existed recorded no disposition, so ConsignTrak can't tell whether they implied a wrong count. They never appear here.
