Welcome to ConsignTrak
ConsignTrak runs a consignment warehouse. The warehouse holds and ships goods that belong to other companies, its supply partners. ConsignTrak records every item that comes in, every order that goes out, and every change in between, so the warehouse and each supply partner always agree on what's on the shelf.

How this manual is organized
The manual is split by who you are and what you're doing. Start with the section that matches your job.
- Getting started explains how ConsignTrak thinks. Read these pages once. Every other page assumes them.
- Office covers the desk work: orders, receiving, customers, supply partners, inventory, counts and exceptions.
- Warehouse covers the phone screens used on the floor: picking, packing, shipping, receiving and counting.
- Supply Partner portal is for supply partners checking their own stock and activity.
- Administration covers setup: users, settings, imports and accounting periods.
- Reference holds the glossary, status meanings, permissions and frequently asked questions.
- Developers is for people connecting other systems to ConsignTrak.

The ideas behind everything
These short pages explain the rules the rest of the manual relies on.
- How consignment flows through the warehouse: who owns the stock, and the path from receiving to shipping.
- How items are identified: why a part number still matches when it's typed differently.
- How customers are identified: account numbers, other names, and drop-ship locations.
- Release numbers: the numbers on every order and what each one is for.
- The audit trail: why every stock change is recorded and can't be erased.
- Staging areas: where a picked order waits for the packer.
